NFS PS: Video-Interview with Mark Little |
Friday, 08.06.2007 |
The onlinemagazine 1UP sat down with Mark Little, the Producer of Need for Speed ProStreet and made an video interview. In the video he talks about the research, the balance between arcade and simulation, the damage model and smoke. Better take a look yourself:
In the video, you'll see how closely EA worked with Porsche (among others), accumulating telemetry data on closed courses while putting real-world cars -- like the Porsche 911 -- through their paces, for the sake of recreating the same experience through a video game controller. The Need For Speed series has always been fairly consistent in offering a top notch racing experience over the years, in a number of different specialty categories, but with ProStreet, EA and the Black Box team look like they're on to something really exciting. Take a moment to watch our exclusive video and see why ProStreet is one of our most anticipated racing games of the year.

NFS PS: Collector`s Edition is coming |
Wednesday, 06.06.2007 |
Electronic Arts is going publish a regular edition and a Collector's Edition of Need for Speed ProStreet, as they already did with NFS Carbon. But unfortunately it's not known yet, what the differences are and which exclusive contents are planned.
You can already preorder both editions at Amazon.com, but only to addresses within the U.S. or APO/FPO addresses. Need for Speed ProStreet is being released for PC, PS3, PS2, Xbox360, PSP, Nintendo DS and Mobile. In Europe EA published the last NFS games already on DVD only, but this time the americans will be happy to hear (as long as you have a DVD drive) that they get a DVD-version too, which spares the disc-changing. :)

As we recently reported, there are two starter-girls, who launch the race at the starting line. The first girl is Krystal Forscutt and according to an article at IndianaInfoline we finally got information about the second girl, which was already shown on a picture: Sayoko Ohashi, a girl from Japan.
Need for Speed ProStreet includes beautiful in-game flag girls, played by popular celebrities from the Asia Pacific region. The only two girls to be featured in the game this year, Krystal Forscutt, a reality TV star and glamour girl from Australia, and Sayoko Ohashi, an up-and-coming personality from Japan, make their appearances throughout the game to add color to the authentic world of street racing.

NFS PS: Presentation at the E3 |
Wednesday, 06.06.2007 |
The Electronic Entertainment Expo - short E3 - is the worldwide biggest gaming expo, which takes place annually in Los Angeles. Only this year it will be different, because instead of a big show and a great audience the E3 will only be accessible for a selected persons from the games press. Less show, more information.
IGN now published a list of all developers and their games, which will be shown at the E3. Electronic Arts is going to present Need for Speed: ProStreet, so after the E3, which takes place from 11th to 13th July, we can expect a bunch of new information and media about the game. :)
