At the Gamescom 2011 EA managed to get some red street-carts and set up the Cologne City Inferno, a unique event for the NFS commity, which resulted in a horde of NFS people cruising through the streets of Cologne.
EA Germany now released a video of this community event, which gives you some impressions:
At the Gamescom 2011 there was a presentation of Need for Speed: The Run behind closed doors, where NFS Producer Jason DeLong showed the game to the community.

Last weekend at the Formula Drift Pro Championship in Las Vegas the Team Need for Speed was able to get on the podium. Team NFS driver Matt Powers had a good starting position, as he qualified in 1st place and in the end he raced on the podium finishing as 3rd!

With this week's update of Need for Speed World two new cars were introduced in the game.
With the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 the brand Mercedes-Benz finally debuts in NFS World and offers one of its most high-performance sports cars, with a powerful super-charged engine, carbon fibre technology, low weight and an extraordinary styling!
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 is now available for purchase from the Car Dealer. in NFS World.
The second car is the Audi RS4, offering excellent torque, V8 engine and extreme balance with its Quattro 4WD system.
The Audi RS4 is as well available for purchase from the Car Dealer.

In the course of the Gamescom 2011 Community Event EA managed to get some go-carts and went driving through Cologne, Germany. The karts have only 8 HP, but can go up to impressive 80 kph. ;)

Gamescom 2011 has started and while today there is a presentation of Need for Speed: The Run behind closed doors in the EA Community Lounge, EA also offers three interesting Live-Chats with the producers, where you can ask your questions about Need for Speed Wold and The Run.
Today's EA press conference at the Gamescom in Cologne, Germany is now available in full-length on Youtube.
The presentation of Need for Speed: The Run doesn't offer much new, but after a short introduction by Executive Producer Jason DeLong you get to see some gameplay-scenes: a race at the Independence Pass in Colorado, which is also the location from the latest trailer.
